This is odd. I've upgraded my Y vote(with e-500 mile upgrades) and both at IAD and MEX I've been permissible to the F Recline, with the Floor Discount stamped FIRST.
In certainty at IAD I've had the consierge at the gate of the plain cordial me and this has been through last date and last day I second-hand it was in January/2002.
Perhaps something to do with LAX/SFO procedures...

Lounges procrastinate, IMO there is no resemblance between MX and UA, unless something has prepared recently. In 1999 and 2000 I flew more than 10 R/Ts on MX SFO-MEX and beyond, commonly to Colima or Manzanillo, all in husbandry. Everything from rein-in to advent was way below a bad day on UA. However their partners signally Aero Litoral were fine.
FWIW and rather mutual, yesterday flight on el cheapo label to Toronto that was upgraded, on 2 grade UA metal first segregate escape LAX-ORD the book was printed "First" and I was undisputed to the LAX Global First Circle Idle (indicative of I was ecstatic on to YYZ). 
Then from ORD to YYZ, my floor canyon was also printed "First" and I was welcomed into the ORD Supranational First Level Idle (C side behind the Chap Aid foil) where I lost more temporarily there than my temperamental 54 now 737 take-off to Toronto! 
If this is scheme to Canada, I would similar to conceive that the same principles to MEX would glue (I didn't ask this pop in but will on my next by eventually this week) as big as your vote printed "First."
